Gearheads, lend us your ears! A true classic has vanished from the streets of Cedar Park, Texas, and we need your help to track it down. Between March 21st and 22nd, 2024, a cherry red 1986 Chevrolet K30 pickup truck was snatched from its rightful owner on the 3000 block of Woodall Drive.

This isn’t your average mall crawler. The K30, part of Chevy’s long-running C/K line, was a beast of burden built for work and adventure. Introduced in 1973, the third-generation C/K trucks sported a boxy design that screamed functionality. The K30 stood out from its siblings with a heavy-duty suspension and a single rear wheel setup (although some models offered dual rear wheels for even more hauling capacity).
Our missing beauty in Cedar Park appears to be a particularly stunning example. The owner describes it as a head-turner with a candy apple red paint job, lifted suspension for tackling any terrain, and gleaming chrome mirrors and cab roof running lights. Stock K30s from 1986 came equipped with a monstrous 7.4-liter V8 engine under the hood, offering plenty of muscle for hauling heavy loads or conquering off-road trails.
So why would someone steal such a unique truck? There are a few possibilities:
- Classic Collector: The K30 is a beloved classic among truck enthusiasts, and a well-maintained example like this one could fetch a hefty price on the collector car market.
- Off-Road Obsession: The K30’s rugged build and powerful engine make it a dream machine for off-road enthusiasts. Perhaps the thief plans to strip it for parts or use it for some extreme adventuring.
- Workhorse Wanting: Maybe someone after a reliable work truck for hauling or towing saw this K30 as a steal (pun not intended) and decided to take matters into their own very illegal hands.
