Classic 69 Camaro Stolen After CHP Checked It Out

On 10/9/2022, This classic Camaro was last seen on I-280 northbound just north of John Daly Blvd, under the BART Station. After pulling over with a flat tire, the owner exited the freeway and called AAA. From the nearby BART station, the owner watched from a safe location as CHP patrol units arrived. Believing AAA was right behind them, a ride arranged by the owner, began to drive him home. He was later contacted by the AAA tow that the vehicle could not be located. It was determined that the CHP checked that the vehicle was not actually blocking lanes, issued a 4-hour warning, and then left the scene. Sometime within the next hour, the Camaro was stolen before the AAA tow arrived.

It’s almost a two-mile drive to the next exit at Geneva Ave in San Francisco. Did someone drive it off with a flat tire? Those RIMS are worth about 7K. Was a tow truck used to steal the Camaro?
